Indulge in the sweet bite and pure bliss of chocolate-covered ice cream balls—the perfect ending to any meal! Open one end to fill the outside chamber with rock salt and ice, and open the other end to fill the inner chamber with your ice cream ingredients. We always choose the vanilla ice cream recipe so we can add whatever toppings we want on top after it is ready. The most recent star prize that I chose (actually I let my 6 year old daughter Natalie choose this time!

We continued rolling the ball inside our apartment, and around the 20-minute mark my older son commented that he could feel the ice cream getting harder by how different the ball was rolling, and he was right. This is such a fun afternoon activity and great to do with the whole family since you need some muscle power to keep tossing the ball!No electricity is needed make the ice cream by rolling the ball and it is ready in approximately 30 minutes and makes 1 pint of ice cream. Whisk up an egg white, roll the balls in it, then quickly re-roll them in the corn flakes crush mix again: the ice cream balls should now be well and duly covered!

You’ve got to be careful during the playing part of this process because the ball is hard plastic and heavy when it’s full of ice, almost like a bowling ball.White chocolate will be very sweet, dark chocolate will be less sweet and slightly bitter, whereas milk chocolate will fall right in the middle. Make sure that the bowl and pot fit nicely onto each other—the bowl should be resting on top of the pot (in other words it should be larger).

Now, fry the ice cream balls one by one for about 160° C / 320° F until pleasantly golden: aim for max 10 seconds of frying time. Some plain ones, a few general scoops and one with a button to press out the scoop that is a favourite to play with! Firstly, the ice-cream that was stuck to the sides was so hard that I found it difficult to stir and remove from the container. Helen Corbitt was one of the greatest influences on my cooking because of my previous job in the kitchen at The Greenhouse. While we have started to see just family at their homes, we have been pretty modest about going out and about. The fudge sauce is not included because this recipe makes a lot more than you will need for four servings. In case you want your fried ice cream to come out OK, the ice cream needs to be very cold when it goes into the frying pan.
