Juniper, clove, cinnamon and other botanicals are macerated for weeks into three times distilled grain alcohol and subsequently distilled in XIX century copper stills. Firm impressions of lavender and lilac seem to be omnipresent tainting the more familiar sensations of juniper and orange citrus with their presence. Our split bottle is perfect for those who want to try both flavours without committing to a full bottle, and makes a great gift for any gin lover. Lots of taste and it's gone down well with my sister in law who very much enjoyed sharing it with me 1 Saturday night.

The Blue Gin is a refreshing and crisp gin with a tangy citrus taste, followed by subtle notes of juniper and coriander. The new bottle with its thick glass base is stable with a size and shape that rests easily on any bartender’s shelf; it is easy to hold with the tapered bottle being about the right size for the average person’s hand; and it is easy to pour as the stopper comes out easily and the mid-sized neck helps us avoid spilling. It is bottled at 47 % alcohol by volume ensuring a more concentrated flavour than more traditional spirits which are bottled at 40 % alcohol by volume. Our gin is distilled by hand in small batches using pure spring water from our own deep water source combined with fragrant botanicals and fresh citrus fruits. Camber Wines was established over 10 years ago and supplies a selection of wine from around the world. When I add an ice-cube, the strong flavours are muted; but the spiciness of cardamom (tastes like ginger) continues unabated. I want to note that the sample bottle I was given for this review was the older bottle style (see below). Take a glance at its pictorial representation on the label and box, and you’ll understand the origin of its evocative name.

Whatever the reason, my score had dropped considerably, Of course once I began using vodka in conjunction with the No. The vibrant burst of juicy blueberries dances harmoniously with the crisp and refreshing notes of gin, while the subtle hint of vanilla adds a touch of velvety sweetness. Edinburgh Preserves was set up by Sandy Herd in 1995 with a simple idea to produce a family recipe for Tomato Chutney. Our Walter Smith True Blue Gin is a high quality blend of botanicals, produced by a multi award winning distiller based in Scotland. Created in recognition of the UK’s police forces 200 plus year service, 20% of the profits from sales is donated to police charities supporting serving and retired police offers. The back of the bottle contains additional information which indicates that colour has also been added to the gin. Enjoy on it's own with a block of ice or add a little citrus and watch the Gin change colour from Blue to a sunrise Purple Pink so often seen at Britain's most easterly point.

A new colour changing gin from Roehill Springs Distillery, which uses their signature No 5 as the base, with the addition of the magical butterfly pea flower botanical. The product was first test marketed in Spain, and was then launched in limited quantities internationally in 2012. New to 2023 (Reducing our Carbon Footprint) - Grab yourself a 70cl refill pouch to top up your bottle for life.

There is little burn in the throat followed by what I am going to describe as ‘a perfumed fade’ of juniper, orange peel and balsam.
