just the whole book was just a rollercoaster of emotions— i couldn’t put it down, and ever time i had to i got super pissy at the people around me. But I mean that scene with Aiden and Adrian was everything and I will not apologize for the fact that I am so happy we got it! Aidan mentioned here that him and Asher are actually good friends and i had a eureka moment— like woahhh that makes so much sense, you guys must sit and bond over being the shittiest dads to ever exist! how are people (*cough cough* devil girl) out here rating books 1 stars when they aren’t even out yet? All this hypothetical stories and possible plots just started building in my mind and now I can’t stop thinking about Eli and Ava, Jeremy and Cecile and Brandon and Nikolai.

With each twist and turn, Rina Kent keeps readers on the edge of their seats, craving more of the God’s story. if you ask me to differentiate bw killian, creighton, landon, and jeremy, i probably won't be able to. they’re a lot like Lia and Adrian that way— although, some of the parallels and nods to Annika’s parents were a bit excessive. When I saw the arc team saying that this book has so much pain I was waiting for something sad and heartbreaking, not pathetic and boring. I'm annoyed with all the talk of they're psychopaths, crazy boys, the devil, so scary, and keep going the list of references Rina made of her boys (by her girls who did grow with them but are like little cats scared) and they're just kids playing of being mafiosos. From the quiet and aloof Creighton King we were previously introduced to, I fell in love with the multitude of brilliance and depth that fascinated me not only in his singular focus of topics or subjects, but also in his awareness of everything or everyone around him. You can't seriously believe that you'll deliver a good grumpy/sunshine romance when you already have your main characters deeply in lust with each other from the first few pages.

Her books are sprinkled with a touch of darkness, a pinch of angst, and an unhealthy dose of intensity. Rina Kent’s ability to explore the complexities of pain and its impact on the human psyche sets this novel apart. I love that, this time, the main couple didn’t have just 5-10 pages towards the end for their peaceful scenes.I don’t know if Rina planned this or if just came to her writing this book, but I’m now afraid and excited to what’s coming and at the same time I know that all my theories for the next books are not even close to what she will deliver. The heroine: Annika Volkov - she is the daughter of Adrian Volkov and Lia Morelli and was born into the Bratva mafia.

In the realm of contemporary fiction, “God of Pain Novel” stands as a shining example of Rina Kent’s prowess as an author. The chemistry between them scorches you with the intensity, but it's all the little things in their relationship that will fill you up inside. I had high expectations for God of Pain, and I'm not trying to be a bitch, but Rina pretty please stop writing. Though she hides behind her bright sunny nature, she has OCD and yearns to live life on her own terms.

This review contains some spoilers, but I think this book isn't that worthy of your time, so feel free to see my honest opinion. I love how Creighton seems confused and almost overwhelmed about the how and why of his fascination and obsession with Annika. I think this book gets slept on a lot but I remember it being legit one of my favorites (and it is hard to choose favorites in this series)!

He staked his claim towards Anni in front of everyone and just couldn’t stand anybody taking up her thoughts or time that wasn’t him. The way that it mainly starts for them is when Annika decides she needs a fake boyfriend to show that she is ''in love'' and won't be forced into an arranged marriage. The twist in this book just crushed my heart and at the same time this characters earned my absolute respect. Threatening him that he will marry Anni and give him grandkids- a threat in the epilogue he tells Anni he will need to tell her that it will become a reality. The side characters didn't miss too, and I could literally sell my soul to read about them right now.The H doesn’t let her; the h hangs out with OM2 and the H thinks she’s into this man who could be her father 🤣. Her brother Jeremy will one day take over for their father and Annika knows that women in the mafia are used to make alliances through arranged marriages so she know that will most likely be her fate one day. Adrian AGAIN shows up (never stop showing up) and is determined to hurt/kill Creigh for kidnapping his daughter and harming her.
