About this deal

This book is dark and I'd say there are definitely sexual assault triggers. The murders done by Kitty can be a bit gruesome. But none of it took away from my enjoyment of the book. Although dark, there is a bunch of dark humor mixed in. Why do you think the author included quotes from Jane Eyre and Little Women before the story begins?

I absolutely, massively disliked Kitty. I do realise that she was written like that on purpose, but come on, I can take it only that long… I hadn't intended to kill him of course. But I wasn't displeased when I did and, despite the mess I made, I appeared to get away with it. Kitty is a delight. Never thought that word would describe a serial killer, but she's absolutely delightful. Witty, hilarious, and on occasion she happens to murder men.' NetGalley reviewer,A really thought provoking read that had so many elements and so many layers to it. It was so gripping too I finished it within a couple of days.' NetGalley reviewer, It’s absolutely entertaining, smart, twisty, riveting psychological thriller! I’m rounding up 4.5 to 5 extra surprising, sarcastic, darkest stars! I absolutely had so much fun!

she lied about having a miscarriage ~ she was never pregnant. This really rubbed me the wrong way. This is something that should never be lied about or joked about or anything about. And they were barely dating, so didn't seem plausible anyway. I hadn’t intended to kill him of course. But I wasn’t displeased when I did and, despite the mess I made, I appeared to get away with it. huge disappointment considering this was my biggest anticipated read for may. I don’t remember a single thing about this book besides how bad the ending was. Then they're there. Two of them. Not uniformed. A woman and a man. The woman must be around my age. She's pretty and I wonder why she's a police officer when there are a hundred other less traumatizing things she'd be able to do with her looks."

Coming to the whole plot. It was a very interesting plot. We have Kitty Collins who is definitely the female version of Dexter. I really enjoyed the changes in vocal pace and delivery used by Victoria Morrison to bring Kitty's narrative to life. These vocal variations create an immersive listening experience and smoothly convey the emotions within the story. Female Dexter in Gucci and heels. Witty, intriguing, full of fashion, charm and slightly raunchy at times.' NetGalley reviewer, Eat, Drink, and Be Merry: The Ultimate Guide to Celebrating Christmas with the Best Drinks Books On The Shelves Although the relatively small cast of secondary characters is not given much depth, they are skilfully used to drive and enrich the story's themes.

No one flinches when women get murdered by men in fiction, but I have a hunch some people could get worked up about this book. Because the author has turned the tables on us and on society. It's not just women who have to watch their step in Kitty's London, men better be careful too. Not something that the patriarchy is used to and it may cause a bit of a snit. He doesn’t look like a monster though. But they don’t, do they? Otherwise, they’d never get the opportunity to be monsters.”

I felt like the ending was so terrible. I was going to rate this book a generous 3.75 out of 5 but after that ending I physically can not give it anything over a 3 stars And now for what I have to say about the actual book. Cover? 27 out of 10. Title? Fifty’leven out of 10. Content??? Wellllllllll, let’s summarize this one in song, shall we? ♬♪♬ Grab your coat and get your hat – suspend all disbelief at the doorstep ♬♪♬ One sentence review: It had all the right ingredients but the proverbial baking soda was expired so this did not rise to expectations Kitty Collins is probably the most unstable female protagonist I’ve ever encountered. She’s a pretty kitty with claws and a lust for blood. You’ll need to read the book to understand her and her reasoning – because I’m not giving away any of her secrets. I did, however, find her choices debatably questionable -- criminal -- and probably insane. Smart, fast-paced, darkly funny and a great main character. Definite 5 star read, Katy Brent is a fantastic storyteller.' NetGalley reviewer,Looking to get your teeth into a juicy, darkly funny crime novel at your book group? You’d do well to consider bringing Katy Brent’s How to Kill Men and Get Away With It to the table. Katy Brent serves up one bizarre killer-diller 2022 debut novel that surrounds friends, lovers and murders in a dark psychological thriller. A truly bloody mess -- and I mean that quite literally. I had no idea what I would confront inside the covers of this reading choice. Nothing. I've been trying to come up with any aspects that I liked about this book, but I seriously couldn't think of anything. I'd recommend this book to people who enjoyed the show Dexter and looking for a woman's take on it. How did you feel after Kitty’s first murder? Do you blame her for fleeing the scene? Why does she go to the funeral? What does that reveal about her?
